This 1797 Cello has Stradivarius tone but available for only a small fraction of the Stradivarius price. This gorgeous Cello has been in our family for several decades and is a cherished instrument and family heirloom.
As you can see by the pictures below, the petina and flamed maple is nothing short of incredible! The tone produced is even better than it looks. The cello is completely functional and plays very well. This instrument has been played regularly for many years. It is a very fine instrument and it deserves a home where it will be played well and often. Of course, there are a few old repaired cracks, but the instrument is extremely sturdy and in very good condition for being over 200 years old.
The original label inside reads Carl Friedrich Hagen mufikal. Inftrumentenmacher in Berlin 1797. The size of the cello is a very comfortable 7/8 which many professional musicians as well as students prefer.
It does not come with a bow, and we have not decided yet what case comes with it. We want only $25k for it ….. which is cheaper than a piece of nice furniture made in the same era! You’re going to love it! I can be reached at 301-802-2228 at marklovett.com.
